[Conference] National DV Prosecution Training
Wednesday, January 17, 2024 to Friday, January 19, 2024
Category: Meetings

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys through its Domestic Violence (DV) Prosecution Committee will host the 5th National APA Domestic Violence Prosecution Conference
on January 17-19, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. This event is co-sponsored by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office and the Phoenix City Attorney's Office.

This conference will provide attendees with enhanced strategies for the investigation and prosecution of DV-related crimes, with a particular focus on prosecutors collaborating with victim advocates to support victims and strengthen case outcomes. Over the course of two and a half days, attendees will learn from expert practitioners on topics such as victim and witness recantation, brain injuries caused by violence, trauma informed interviewing, and forensic exams. DV managers will also be offered sessions related to supervising new DV attorneys. Through plenary presentations, breakout sessions, group discussions, and resource-sharing opportunities, this conference will address foundational topics in domestic violence prosecution and provide a forum for sharing new ideas and highlighting innovative strategies among working DV prosecutors, managers, and victim advocates.

This conference is intended for prosecutors, investigators, and victim advocates involved in the prosecution of DV-related crimes. Due to space restrictions, those not meeting these criteria will be contacted by APA, and a full refund will be issued.
