Webinar: Building a Multicultural Community Council
Tuesday, March 23, 2021, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
Category: Webinars

Join us Tuesday, March 23 at 3pm ET for a look into how to build a council that emphasizes conversation, transparency, and building trust between prosecutors and the community, featuring presenters from the Yolo County District Attorney's Office in California. The Multi-Cultural Community Council (MCCC) was created by Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig and former MCCC chairperson Dr. Jesse Ortiz to facilitate conversation between residents and the DA’s department around understanding the criminal justice system and racial, social, and historical inequity in our county. Their mission is to seek fair and equal justice, ensure open communications, inclusive community participation, and to offer education on the criminal justice system. In the process, they hope to engender trust and provide transparency that strengthens intercultural connections within our county. In this timely and important presentation, our speakers will share the work done, lessons learned, and building blocks necessary to engage the community at this level as prosecutors.
